The departure of a flight of Air Astana in Kazakhstan has been delayed for 11 hours due to a lightning strike, the press-service of the airline reports.
On August 22nd at 9:40 the flight was to fly according to the route Almaty-Antalya, but due to a lightning strike, it has been delayed for almost 11 hours. Currently, the aircraft is being inspected and all the necessary technical measures will be taken, RIA Novosti reports.
The aircraft will be replaced by another that is to take off in the evening.
Air Astana is Kazakhstan's national carrier, based in Almaty.
