Alpaslan Kavaklıoğlu and Mahir Unal, deputies from the Party of Justice and Development, have been proposed to head the Defense Ministry of the country.
Alpaslan Kavaklıoğlu has worked as an assistant governor of the Erzincan and Sakarya provinces. He is a graduate of the Academy of Turkey's National Security. He speaks English and Japanese.
Mahir Ünal is a graduate of Marmara University. Since 2004 he has worked as a strategic consultant during the election campaigns of the Party of Justice and Development. He speaks Arabic and English, Trend reports.
