An independent MP of Tbilisi City Council Aleko Elisashvili announced he would run as Tbilisi mayoral candidate.
He also said that Georgia’s Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze from the Georgian Dream party would be his main opponent in the October race, Agenda.ge reported.
The opposition European Georgia has named an expert in politics and a lawmaker, Elene Khoshtaria, as its candidate for Tbilisi Mayor’s post, while the United National Movement named famous TV anchor of Rustavi 2 private broadcaster Zaal Udumashvili.
