Support for spectators in Baku is very helpful, the Russian gymnast Arina Averina said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza after performing with a ball and a hoop at the first day of the qualifications of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku.
"The spectators in Baku are very supportive. It really helps me. In general, I hope that my performance at this World Cup will be worthy, hope that I will get to the finals," she said.
Arina Averina also noted the excellent organization of the tournament. "The living conditions here are good, the gym is excellent - it's really big, so there is a lot of place to train. I like everything very much," the Russian gymnast explained.
Arina Averina already came to Baku for the European Championship in 2014, but she did not perform then. She said that her dream is to represent country at the Olympics.
The FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup will be held in Baku on April 28-30. Participation of 94 gymnasts from 21 countries is expected in the event, 37 of them will perform in the individual program, while 57 gymnasts will take part within the teams of group exercises. Athletes will compete for 8 medal sets.
