Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received a U.S. congressional delegation led by Senator Roger Wicker in Yerevan on July 5, the Armenian Foreian Ministry reported.

The interlocutors discussed the agenda of Armenia-U.S. political dialogue, and regional developments.

"Recently, we have formed an active dialogue with the U.S. at various levels, and it is very important that about a month ago we made a joint decision to raise the level of our cooperation to a strategic partnership," Ararat Mirzoyan said.

He noted that the development of Armenia-U.S. cooperation is also aimed at strengthening Armenia's resilience, which Yerevan highly values.

The Armenian FM presented Yerevan's vision for establishing stability and long-term peace in the South Caucasus, including the normalization of the country’s relations with its neighbors. Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of signing the peace treaty with Azerbaijan.

In addition, the interlocutors exchanged views on Armenia's foreign policy and reflected also on the need for the unblocking of regional channels, as well as humanitarian issues.
