The fall of the ruble rate has made supplement of expensive wines unprofitable for Armenian exporters to the EAEC countries, chairman of the Union of Armenian Winemakers Avag Harutyunyan said.
"We exported wine to Russia before our membership in the EAEC, but the percentage has not changed. New opportunities were about to appear, but you can see what has happened with the ruble. The EAEC market has become attractive only for the low segment,’’ NEWS.am cites him as saying.
As for expensive sorts, products have to be sold below the prime cost, which is not in the interests of winemakers.
