Armenia confirms 114 new COVID-19 cases

Coronavirus cases in Armenia grew by 114 in the past 24 hours to 157,948, the republic’s Health Ministry reported.

"In the past twenty-four hours, 114 new coronavirus cases were identified. A total of 135,638 patients recovered from the illness. Currently, 14,824 people are under treatment," the ministry said in a statement.

Seven more coronavirus patients died in hospitals in the past twenty-four hours, bringing the total number of fatalities in the republic to 2,775 over the entire pandemic period, the statement says.

The state of emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic was in force in Armenia for six months - from March 16 to September 11 inclusive. After the parliament passed amendments to the package of relevant laws, the Armenian government introduced quarantine throughout the country for a period of 4 months - until January 11, 2021.
