 Armenia's Zvartnots to receive Ashgabat-Yerevan-Frankfurt flight tommorow

The Turkmen Airlines will operate the maiden Ashgabat-Yerevan-Frankfurt flight on December 27, the head of the Main Civil Aviation Department Sergey Avetisyan said at a press conference.

Avetisyan said this is will be the first flight in the history of Armenia to be carried out using the fifth freedom of the air.

According to Avetisyan, after arriving in Yerevan the aircraft will continue to Frankfurt in Germany. "One flight will be made weekly, but if the route is in demand, there is a possibility of increasing the number of flights," ARKA cited Avetisyan as saying.

In addition, Avetisyan said that Armenia's airline Taron Avia has temporarily suspended flights to the Shirak airport in Gyumri.

Accordion to him, the decision was prompted by the low demand in the winter months of January and February. He said this is done by actually all airlines. Avetisyan added that Taron Avia will resume flights in spring. Taron-Avia had launched regular and charter flights to Gyumri from April 25.
