Armenian Armed Forces stop following Pashinyan's orders?

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's order to send troops to Yerevan if necessary was denied, the "Hraparak" newspaper reports citing its sources in the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

According to the newspaper, a few days ago the head of government contacted Chief of the General Staff of Armenia's Armed Forces Onik Gasparyan and informed him about the need to place troops on alert in order to bring them to Yerevan to guard special objects when he asks.

"As long as I am the Chief of the General Staff, the army will not interfere in internal political processes and will not be brought into the city," Gasparyan replied, and the conversation was over.

Immediately after him, the chief of the General Staff contacted Armenian Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan, told him about the conversation with Pashinyan and asked to give Pashinyan a similar answer,  if the prime minister addresses Harutyunyan with the same order. The Minister of Defense promised Gasparyan to discuss this issue with the head of government.
