Armenian authorities aren't telling the truth about October 27th

16 years have passed since the terrorist attack in the Armenian parliament. On October 27th 1999 a group of criminals led by Nairi Hunanyan burst into a conference room, took hostages, and then opened fire and killed eight people, including Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan and Speaker Karen Demirchyan

A trial of seven terrorists took place five years later. At the end of the process, six of them were sentenced to life imprisonment, and the other to 14 years of imprisonment.

However, despite this, the real names of the organizers of this crime haven’t been revealed.

Speaking today on the anniversary of this tragedy, the speaker of parliament Galust Sahakyan expressed hope that details of the attack will be revealed. "If it were possible to do everything, it would have already been done. We need not only human resources, but also a large arsenal, which will be found. It will be find out and revealed. We must be sure that the power of Armenia will find it out,’’ NEWS.am cites him.

In an interview with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, MP Aram Manukyan absolutely agreed with Stepan Demirchian. "The matter will be considered until there is a change of power. If the current authorities remain, then the exposure of this case will be posponed,’’ he stressed.

"Maybe they know who did it, who was the organizer. They have a lot of information, like no one else can have. What can prevent a solution of this case? I think that nothing can,’’ Aram Manukyan said.

The ANC press secretary Arman Musician expressed the same opinion: "I absolutely agree with Stepan Demirchyan, the son of the late Karen Demirchyan. The People's Party of Armenia also adheres to the same opinion. The current authorities won’t reveal this terrible crime, which took place on October 27th 1999. Only a new, popularly elected government will be able to reveal this case. The current government is not interested in it. Why? Let your readers reach such conclusions,’’ he said.
