Armenian parliament may discuss recognition of so-called 'NKR'

The Armenian parliament may consider recognition of the independence of the self-proclaimed so-called 'Nagorno-Karabakh Republic', the press secretary of the Republican Party, Edward Sharmazanov, said.

"As you know, the President of Armenia instructed the Foreign Ministry to prepare an agreement on mutual military assistance to the NKR. Work is now being carried out in this direction," Interfax cited him as saying.

The move was proposed earlier by the deputy of the opposition party Armenian National Congress, Hrant Bagratyan.

As of today, the so-called Nagorno-Karabakh Republic has not been recognized by any country in the world.

Recall, on the night of April 2 all frontier positions of Azerbaijan were exposed to heavy fire from large-caliber weapons, mortars, grenade launchers and guns. In addition, Azerbaijani settlements near the front line, densely populated by civilians, were shelled.
