The Armenian parliament will continue to work after the dissolution, deputy head of the parliament staff Arsen Babayan wrote on his Facebook page, Arka News Agency reported.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan resigned October 16 to clear way for the dissolution of the parliament and holding early parliamentary elections on December 10. On the same day, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian accepted the resignation of the government.
According to Babayan, in accordance with part 5 of Article 90 of the Armenian Constitution, after the dissolution, the parliament retains its powers in full until the first session of the newly-elected National Assembly, formed as a result of snap parliamentary elections.
Pashinyan will stay in charge as acting prime minister, and members of his Cabinet will also continue to perform their duties.
