A member of a delegation of French politicians, Nicolas Dyuik, after a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus said that the Syrian leader hopes to reach an agreement on a peaceful settlement of the situation in the country at the international negotiations in Geneva this summer.
"He hopes that the conflicting parties will reach an agreement in the summer, before the US presidential elections," RIA Novosti quotes Dyuik as saying.
