The 9th and the first after the end of the Karabakh war, the trilateral meeting of Azerbaijani, Turkish and Georgian foreign ministers Jeyhun Bayramov, Mevlut Cavusoglu and David Zalkaliani, which was planned for tomorrow in Baku, has been postponed.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and his Georgian counterpart David Zalkaliani were expected to visit Azerbaijan for this meeting on Feb.18 and Feb.19, respectively.
According to the Turkish foreign ministry, Cavusoglu planned to meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart and will be received by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
"During the meetings, relations between the three countries and developments on regional issues and steps that can be taken to improve cooperation at the strategic partnership level will be discussed in both bilateral and trilateral formats," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
Zalkaliani's arrival in Baku was also scheduled for today, the Georgian Foreign Ministry clarified that he planned to hold talks with Jeyhun Bayramov. The ministry noted that the trilateral format is a successful mechanism for regional cooperation.
