The Azerbaijani authorities have lifted the ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages, as well as the wholesale of tobacco products for cash, the Deputy Minister of Taxes Sahib Alekperov stated today.
"The decision to lift the ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages for cash was the result of numerous complaints from entrepreneurs. However, there will be no problems in buying alcohol by using plastic cards. Azerbaijan has enough POS-terminals and more than 6 million plastic cards. The shopping facilities and catering establishments have more than 86 thousand POS-terminals and, if necessary, we can install additional terminals," Trend quoted him as saying.
