Azerbaijan and Georgia plan to cooperate in renewable energy

The State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Energy of Georgia agreed to establish a joint working group in the field of alternative energy.

The head of the State Agency, Akim Badalov, met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, the Minister of Economic Development, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, and the Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze in Tbilisi.

Badalov noted that the two countries have accumulated a lot of potential in the use of alternative and renewable energy.

"Both countries have large hydropower resources. The geographical position allows us to use wind energy, biomass and geothermal energy," Trend cited the head of the state as saying.

The sides agreed to establish a working group between Georgia and Azerbaijan, as well as agreed to hold bilateral meetings and to exchange experience in the field of alternative energy.
