Azerbaijan builds new road bypassing Lachin

A new road bypassing Lachin has been built, the press service of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Azerbaijan reports.

The Agency stresses that the road is an important project of transport infrastructure which is implemented on behalf of the president in Karabakh and East Zangazur Economic Regions; and all construction work completed.

The process included drilling works (approximately 7.3 million cubic meters) and blasting (1.3 million cubic meters).

According to the blueprint, various artificial facilities are built along the road located on territories with complex terrain. Concrete ditches are built in necessary places. Water pipes are run in 17 places. Plastic pipes are run in 36 places. A road bridge with four spans (149.5 m long, 13.5 m wide) is built.

According to “Building Regulations”, the road surface is installed, asphalt and concrete surfacing is put, roadsides are improved.

All construction work was done within the schedule and in compliance with the technological sequence.  Building of the road bypassing the city of Lachin started last July. The length of the road is 32 km.
