At its next meeting the Azerbaijani Parliament will consider a bill that obliges to insure the entire amount of a bank deposit. It is worth noting that, to date, the maximum level of insurance payments on deposits amounts to 30 thousand manats, Trend reports.
"In the bill, priority is given to manat deposits. The Board of Trustees of the Deposit Insurance Fund will decide on the new rates on deposits. The main goal here is to maintain confidence in the manat. This law will allow to fully insure the deposits of more than 6 million depositors. This is a great guarantee on the part of the state," APA quotes the head of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Elman Rustamov, as saying.
