The Ministry for Taxes of Azerbaijan replenished the state budget by 4.1 billion manats in the first seven months of this year.
Thus, the revenue forecast had been fulfilled by 101.9%.
It is planned that 7.11 billion manats will be paid by the country in 2015, which will provide 36.6% of the total revenue to the budget. And 4.81 billion (67.7%) is from the non-oil sector of the economy, Trend reports.
Professor of the Western University, political scientist Fikret Sadykhov, told Vestnik Kavkaza that the "non-oil sector has brought revenues to the national budget already for a long time," "The high technology sphere is developing. The economy and the social sphere are developing. The country has launched the production of various products, which are exported. The agriculture complex and farms are developing. They are doing everything necessary to get away from dependence on the oil and gas sector," he noted.
"It brings positive results, and I think that the country will continue to operate in this direction," the expert said.
According to Sadykhov, these measures are particularly relevant in conditions of the currently observed decline in oil prices. "The emphasis was made on those areas that need to bring revenue to the national budget. I think that every oil-producing state should understand that it is impossible to depend on oil and gas constantly. The price is a matter of the situation, it is a matter regulated by the market. And I think that there will be future prospects in this area," Fikret Sadykhov concluded.
A political scientist, an MP of the Azerbaijani Majlis, Rasim Musabekov, in his turn, said that "the main efforts of the government are aimed at the development of the non-oil sector in the last six or seven years." "Over the past five years, the amount of oil produced has been falling and the income from it has also been falling, so the budgetary burden falls on the revenues from sectors not associated with oil production," he said.
The expert noted that the oil industry will remain very important for the country for historical and operational reasons. "And oil will play an important role in Azerbaijani economy for a long time. Azerbaijan is not Angola, which has only 20 years of oil production. Azerbaijan will produce oil for almost 150 years," Musabekov stressed.
According to Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the oil and gas sector has brought 3 trillion rubles (45% of total revenues) to the Russian budget in the first half of this year. But the share of revenue from it was almost 52% in the same period last year. So it probably makes sense for Russia to look closely at the policy pursued by Azerbaijan, which will reduce the dependence of our economy on the export of hydrocarbons.
