Azerbaijan starts 2023 with increased gas exports

In the first quarter of 2023, gas supplies from Azerbaijan to other countries increased by 11,2%.

In just three months, exports amounted to 6,5 billion cubic meters of gas. The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan clarified that 45% of supplies or 2,9 billion cubic meters of gas were delivered to European countries. Türkiye became the second largest buyer of Azerbaijani gas. Its exports amounted to 41%, 2,7 billion cubic meters. The third buyer was Georgia. The country's export amounted to 14%, 0,9 billion cubic meters.

In 2023, Azerbaijan expects to export 24,5 billion cubic meters of gas, it's 10% more than last year. Almost half of this volume - 12 billion cubic meters - will be supplied by the republic to European countries, including Italy, Romania, Greece and Bulgaria.
