Azerbaijani athletes who will take part in the Summer Olympic Games and the delegation members have left for Rio de Janeiro.
A solemn see-off ceremony was held at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport for the athletes. Representatives of the sports community and sports fans took part in the ceremony.
Azerbaijani team will be represented at the Olympic Games in Rio with 56 athletes. Azerbaijan will be represented at Rio 2016 in 18 sports, four of which are new (triathlon, archery, cycling and canoe slalom).
During the Olympiad, the Azerbaijani team will be accompanied by 34 coaches, six doctors, physiotherapists and technicians, Trend reports.
