Azerbaijan is marking Knowledge Day. 42,723 first-formers went to school today, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Education said.
1.37 million pupils, including 347,891 pupils in Baku, will start their education during the current school year.
"Five new schools have been put into operation, while 140 schools have been renovated. The construction of another nine schools is under way," the Ministry said.
