Soslan Ramonov and Togrul Asgarov become best fighters in category to 65kg at Olympic Games in Rio

Today the Russian freestyle wrestler Soslan Ramonov won the 19th Olympic gold in Rio for Russia, defeating the Azerbaijani athlete Togrul Asgarov with a score of 11:0.

Third place was taken jointly by Frank Chamizo Marquez (Italy) and Ihtiyor Navruzov (Uzbekistan).

Thus Russia is still in fourth place in the unofficial medal standings with 19 golds, 18 silvers and 19 bronze Olympic medals. Azerbaijan, in turn, won 16 medals: one gold, five silver and ten bronze. At the moment, the republic claims gold in the freestyle wrestling in the category up to 97 kg.

Recall that Azerbaijan is represented by 56 athletes at the Olympic Games in Rio,  6 freestyle wrestlers, 8 wrestlers in Greco-Roman wrestling, 11 boxers, six wrestlers, 5 rowers, 4 athletesř, 4 taekwondo, 3 gymnasts, 3 cyclists, 2 swimmers and one athlete each in fencing, triathlon, archery and shooting are among them. 36 of them are participating in the Olympic Games for the first time.
