Azerbaijan’s Tariff Council has announced that it raised trip fares for Baku Metro and regular bus routes.
Tariffs have been approved 30 kopecks per departure for passenger transportation in subway transport, 30 kopecks for regular city bus routes in Baku, as well as in other cities and regions, 30 to 90 kopecks for long-distance regular bus routes depending on the distance and 2.4 kopecks per 1 kilometer for routine inter-city bus routes.
The new fares will take effect on August 1, APA reports.
It was noted that the reasons for the change in tariffs are the growth of expenses for passenger transportation services, the need to import vehicles and spare parts for them, with the purpose of updating and maintaining the bus fleet in working condition, a constant increase in the level of services, expansion of the system of cashless settlements in passenger transportation, reducing the subway's dependence on the state budget.
