2015 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry, Professor of the U.S’s University of North Carolina Aziz Sancar has been made a honorary doctor of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
Honorary title and medal to the world-renowned scientist was personally presented by the rector of the university Adalet Muradov.
In addition, the university will open the laboratory named after Aziz Sancar. Muradov also added that next year UNEC will award the Aziz Sancar fellowship.
"I am very happy to receive this award and I express my gratitude to the rector and all of Azerbaijan for their attention," the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza cited the scientist as saying.
