The former Defense Minister of Georgia, Bacho Akhalaia, who is under arrest now, has begun a hunger strike, protesting against the rescheduling of a new trial, which he has been awaiting for more than a year.
Ex-minister said that doesn’t consider a hunger strike as the most effective form of protest, but at the moment this is the only possible way.
Akhalaia also said that witnesses in his case are under "immoral" and "dirty" pressure, and expressed his solidarity with those who were also under such pressure.
