Today Baku will host a number of individual finals in a number of disciplines of the World Gymnastics Cup of the FIG "Challenge" series, which the capital of Azerbaijan is hosting for the first time.
It starts with the men's competition in the floor exercises, which will be held from 12:00 to 12:30 (from 11:00 to 11:30 Moscow time). Among the contenders for the championship are Azerbaijani athlete Petro Pahnyuk, representative of Turkey Ahmet Onder and Israelis Artem Dolgopyat and Alexander Shatilov.
Then, from 12:30 to 13:30 (11:30 to 12:30) the finals of the men competitions in horse exercises and women's competitions in the supporting jump will be held in parallel. In the first of these finals, the contenders for medals are representative of Turkey Ferhat Aridzhan and Iranian Saed Reza Keyha, as well as Artem Dolgopyat and Alexander Shatilov. Among women, representative of Azerbaijan Maria Smirnova and sportswomen from Uzbekistan Oksana Chusovitina and Dilnoza Abdusalimova will compete for the championship.
From 13:30 to 14:30 (12:30 to 14:30) the finals of the exercises in rings between men and uneven bars between women will be held. In the first case, Azerbaijani sportsman Oleg Stepko and representative of Turkey Ibrahim Colak will compete for medals. As for women, gymnast from Azerbaijan Yulia Inshina and Israeli Zuph Feldon are among the finalists.
From 16:00 to 17:00 (15:00 to 16:00) the best in supporting jump among men and in exercises on balance beam among women will be determined. Among men finalists are Oleg Stepko and Ahmet Onder, among women are representative of Azerbaijan Marina Nekrasov and gymnast from Turkey Tutya Yilmaz, as well as Oksana Chusovitina and Dilnoza Abdusalimova.
From 17:00 to 18:00 (16:00 to 17:00) the finals of the exercises on parallel bars between men and floor exercises between women will be held. In the first case, the contenders for medals are Oleg Stepko, Ahmet Onder, Ferhat Aridzhan and Alexander Shatilov. Among women, Marina Nekrasov, Tutya Yilmaz and Oksana Chusovitina will compete for the championship.
The tournament will conclude with the competition of men in crossbeam exercises, which will be held from 18:00 to 18:30 (17:00 to 17:30). In this discipline, Petro Pahnyuk, Ahmet Onder, Artem Dolgopyat and Alexander Shatilov will compete for medals.
