Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the press service of the President reports.
During the conversation, Ilham Aliyev stated that peace had been ensured in the South Caucasus. He noted that Baku and Yerevan continued their efforts to normalize and promote the peace agenda. The President welcomed Washington's readiness to contribute to this work.
Ilham Aliyev also emphasized the importance of ending territorial claims against Azerbaijan based on the constitution, relevant laws and internal regulations in Armenia in order to promote peace.
The Azerbaijani President spoke about the need to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Group and related institutions in order to completely close the conflict, since this group is a relic of the past.
In addition to this, Ilham Aliyev touched upon cooperation between Baku and the USA in the energy sector. The President expressed satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation between the delegations of the two countries in the framework of the preparation process for COP29.
The President expressed gratitude to Washington for its intention to support the holding of the conference. He added that Azerbaijan attached great importance to relations with the United States and supports their further strengthening.
