Baku spectators support even those gymnasts who make mistakes, Ingrid Bratsberg says

Baku spectators are so generous that they support even those gymnasts who make mistakes, Norwegian athlete Ingrid Bratsberg said in an interview with the Vestnik Kavkaza correspondent after her performance in the qualifying exercises with clubs at the  37th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Baku.

“In Baku, there is a wonderful arena and wonderful spectators: they applaud and support you, even if you make a mistake. And if you do everything well, they shout loudly at the end,”  she said.

“I liked the arena decoration. In general, competing in Baku is a real pleasure. Each time, the organizers come up with something new. For example, in May, at the European Championships, the arena was in green, and now in pink,” Ingrid Bratsberg drew attention.

“The opening ceremonies in Baku are always amusing, each of them tells a story, has a plot,” the Norwegian gymnast added.

This week, on September 16-22, the 37th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships is held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. The tournament is the qualification competition for the 32nd Olympic Games in Tokyo. More than 300 gymnasts from 61 countries are competing for nine sets of medals. The motto of the tournament is “Fairy tales will come to life”
