Belgium said that it recognizes the tragic events in the Ottoman Empire in 1915 as the Armenian Genocide.
The Chamber of Representatives has adopted the resolution, which should complete the whole process of recognition, as the Senate had already recognized the Armenian Genocide in 1998.
"We welcome the unconditional recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the legislative and executive authorities of the Kingdom of Belgium," ARKA cited Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian as saying.
