Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the CIS states delegations to participate in the first Caspian Economic Forum this August, the Turkmenistan State News Agency reported.
Speaking at the session of the CIS Council of the Heads of States in Ashgabat, he stressed the key role of the Caspian Sea in the context of Eurasian economic cooperation.
Berdimuhamedov noted that the Caspian Sea is intended to become a strategic hub for combining business interests not only of the coastal countries, but also other states, including the CIS participants,
The Turkmen president explained that this caused them to initiate convening the first Caspian Economic Forum, which will be held in Turkmenbashi on August 12, 2019.
