NATO and Russia should exchange data on relocation and numbers of their military units, which would be reasonable, Germany’s Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen said in an interview published in Bild am Sonntag.
"Of course, we need better relation with Russia, but for that, Russia also should comply with international rules. A dialogue requires at least two parties. Besides, transparency is also important. It would be reasonable if Russia and NATO in the framework of OSCE continued revealing data on relocation and enforcement of their military," TASS cited the minister as saying.
"As for NATO, which is an exclusively defense union, this suggestion has been made already," she said.
