Independent MP Eka Belesia, who once was a member of the Georgian Dream ruling party, attacked ruling party MP Vano Zardiashvili during the hearing for a candidate to the Supreme Court during the Legal Issues Committee meeting of parliament.
Beselia attacked Zardiashvili after the latter mentioned Beselia’s ‘morality,’ allegedly in a negative context, Agenda.ge reported.
Beselia said that Zardiashvili "was instructed by the ruling party" to stage the provocation as several of the candidates for the Supreme Court judge are unable to answer her and other MPs’ critical questions.
"Zardiashvili spoke on behalf of the ruling party and I place the whole responsibility for the incident onto the founder of the Georgian Dream party Bidzina Ivanishvili," Beselia said, adding that she was unable to stay calm’ as Zardiashvili provoked her several times during the meeting.
