According to the special representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov, the aim of the Russian military experts in Syria is to train personnel of the Syrian army to use Russian equipment, which is delivered under joint contracts in the sphere of military-technical cooperation.
He underlined that the military-technical cooperation with Syria is held "in accordance with Russian law and the international legal requirements of the international community for military-technical cooperation among different countries."
