CIS prime ministers meet in Bishkek

The Ala Archa Residence in Bishkek is hosting the meeting of the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government.

The meeting is held in a narrow format behind closed doors, but later it will continue in the extended format. The participants will discuss issues aimed at further broadening and deepening of cooperation between the CIS countries in various fields.

The agenda of today’s meeting of the council includes 16 issues covering a wide range of topical areas of CIS activity. The main attention will be paid to developing trade and economic cooperation, joint work in the energy sector and health care, humanitarian area, improving food security and implementing the innovation cooperation program.

The meeting will also discuss the issue of population censuses in the CIS countries.

After the meeting, it is planned to sign a protocol between the parties to the Free Trade Agreement of October 18, 2011, on the rules and procedures of public procurement regulation, the Convention on the conservation of agrobiodiversity and endorse the Health of the population of the CIS member-countries strategy.

Besides, preparations are underway for signing an agreement on exchanging information on accidents at electricity generation facilities of the CIS member-countries and cooperation on the movement of radioactive sources. It is also planned that the Concept of cooperation between the CIS member-countries in the chemical industry and a plan of priority measures for its implementation will be adopted in Bishkek, TASS reports.
