CSKA lost its chances to progress to the next stage of the UEFA Europa League after the 2:2 draw with Arsenal at Moscow’s VEB Arena on Thursday evening.
Arsenal won 4:1 the two clubs’ previous encounter in London.
The goals were scored by CSKA’s Fyodor Chalov (39th minute) and Kirill Nababkin (50th minute), and Arsenal’s Danny Wellbeck (75th minute) and Aaron Ramsey (90th minute).
Arsenal’s opponent in the UEFA Europa League semifinal will be determined in a drawing procedure to be held in Switzerland’s Nyon on Friday.
