The beauty of the National Gymnastic Arena in the capital of Azerbaijan literally makes you perform as beautifully as it is, the US gymnast Camilla Feeley said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza after performing at the first day of the qualifications of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku.
"Yesterday I felt more relaxed, but this gym was so beautiful and big that I wanted to act more expressively. I liked the lighting very much, it feels like you are performing on stage," she explained.
Camilla Feeley expects to reach the individual hoop and ball finals. "I think my performance was good. Of course, I really wanted to get into the finals. Of course, it's too early to talk about medals," the gymnast noted.
The athlete arrived in Baku for the second time - for the first time she was here for the World Cup last summer. "Baku is a very beautiful city, I especially liked the Flaming Towers, they are so beautiful at night," Camilla Feeley said.
The FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup will be held in Baku on April 28-30. Participation of 94 gymnasts from 21 countries is expected in the event, 37 of them will perform in the individual program, while 57 gymnasts will take part within the teams of group exercises. Athletes will compete for 8 medal sets.
