The federal highway "Caucasus" has become safer, and the accident rate has decreased.

"Despite the increase in traffic intensity on the Caucasus federal highway, there has been a decrease in accident rates due to the engineering and technical measures taken, which have shown their effectiveness",

Head of the Road Supervision Department of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Russian Federation for Stavropol, Dmitry Korneev, said.

Fences and traffic separation elements were installed along the route. It was also possible to reduce the number of accidents on the highway thanks to the introduction of traffic lights and photo-video recording systems
