The mission head and chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, Sergei Lebedev, congratulated the rector of the Baku branch of Moscow State Lomonosov University, Nargiz Pashayeva, on the opening of the 47th International Chemistry Olympiad.
"The International Chemistry Olympiad is an important international event. A total of 300 best young chemists from 80 countries will take part in the Olympiad," Trend cited Lebedev as saying.
The chairman of the CIS Executive Committee noted that CIS countries have a great potential in the chemical industry. “The active participation of students from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine in the 47th International Chemistry Olympiad confirms the great interest of the CIS countries in chemistry,” he stressed.
