Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov announced today, that the Akhmat Race will be held at the Groznaya Fortress in October. This will be the endurance race, the prize fund of which will amount to 5 million rubles.
According to the National News Service, the first Russian pilot of Formula One, Vitaly Petrov, stressed that the endurance race is the most popular format among the spectators and the most complex format for the racers. "I am very glad that these races came to Russia and make their debut in Chechnya at the Groznaya Fortress circuit. I wish good luck and prosperity to the Akhmat Race. I hope that someday we will hold a 24-hour race here, "he said.
