The first case of infection with the coronavirus strain "omicron" was detected in Chechnya, the press service of the Office of Rospotrebnazdor of the republic reports.
"In the Chechen Republic, one case of infection with the Omicron strain has been registered. The situation is under control of the operational headquarters to prevent the importation and spread of a new coronavirus infection on the territory of the Chechen Republic," the report says.
The department urged residents and guests of the republic to follow recommendations for the prevention of coronavirus.
