The Chinese International Payment System (CIPS) has officially begun its operations. A transaction from China to Luxembourg for Sweden's IKEA company was the first operation.
Experts believe that the CIPS will help integrate the yuan into the international economy, as the Chinese currency will be used during international transactions more often due to the reduction of transaction costs.
