Churches and synagogues damaged during Sunday's terrorist attacks in Dagestan will be restored. This statement was made by the head of the region on June 24.

"We first need to make an assessment and see how this will be implemented, to determine the volume of work and the time frames (...) I think we will restore both churches and synagogues in the shortest possible time",

Sergey Melikov said.

Terrorist attacks in Dagestan
The day before, unknown persons attacked two churches, a synagogue and a police post in Derbent and Makhachkala. As a result of these attacks, at least 20 people were killed and 26 were injured. In addition to this, the synagogue in Derbent, built more than 100 years ago, almost completely burned out from the inside due to the fire. Security forces killed 5 militants.
