The Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship has considered the bill on the commercial activity licensing in Azerbaijan.
The Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan, Sahib Mammadov, said that the main innovation of the bill is the introduction of the 'silence implies consent' principle: if the entrepreneur requesting the license for commercial activity will not receive a response from the licensing authority within the statutory period, then it can commence activity without a formal license, abc.az reports.
"As a whole, the bill focuses on the introduction of the unity of licensing of commercial activities, unification of rules and requirements and reduction of terms of granting of licenses. The maximum period for a decision on granting a license will be reduced from 15 to 10 working days, and permission to 7 working days," Mammadov said.
