Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev announced today the privatization of the 65 largest state-owned companies of the National Welfare Fund ‘Samruk-Kazyna’, the holdings ‘Baiterek’ and ‘KazAgro’, as well as 173 subsidiaries and affiliates in the composition of the Fund. The companies will be sold by the state as part of a comprehensive plan of privatization for 2016-2020 years.
Also, as Nazarbayev said in his article published on the side of the MFA of Kazakhstan, at the beginning of 2016 a list of objects that are not subject to alienation will be reduced. A law abolishing the preferential rights of shareholders to purchase the assets disposed has been introduced already.
