Oil and gas wells damaged by a fire at the Guneshli field will be repaired and put into operation before the end of this year, the head of Azneft production association of SOCAR, Dashgyn Iskenderov, said.
"Efforts to enhance the level of oil and gas will be intensified. This year's important tasks will be the completion of the unfinished projects and recovery of the Guneshli platform №10. By the end of the year all the damaged wells will be repaired and put into operation. Regular inspections in order to prevent accidents also will be carried out," Trend cited Iskenderov as saying.
On December 4th, 2015 a gas pipeline was damaged due to a heavy storm, which caused a major fire. The fire was completely extinguished on February 10.
33 people were evacuated, 12 bodies were found dead, another 18 oil workers reported missing.
