Construction of Khudoni HPP in Georgia suspended

In Georgia, the construction of the Khudoni HPP in the region of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti was suspended for an indefinite time, the technical director of Trans Electrica, David Mirtskhulava said.

"At this stage, the project is stopped. I cannot say anything new. The negotiations between the investor and the government were announced. As far as I know, these negotiations have been suspended,’’  Mirtskhulava said, adding that the resumption of the negotiations depends on the government.

"As for the reasons, I have nothing to say, and, in principle, this is question to the government and the ministry of energy, ‘’ he said.
