Nord Stream 2 AG, the operator of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, announced that the project will be resumed in early December this year.
It became known that the Stralsund Waterways and Shipping Authority had issued a warning for ship captains to be especially careful when sailing south of the Adlergrund area in the Baltic Sea. This is due to the beginning of construction work in this area scheduled for December 5.
In this place, the two lines of future pipelines end. The pipeline makes landfall at the northern German coastal town of Lubin. The operator company notes that the ends of the pipelines will be lifted from the seabed and another 2.6 km of the future gas route will be laid. It is specified that, as a rule, such a segment is laid in 1-2 days. To connect the lines of the pipeline, it is necessary to lay 75 km, TASS reports.
Yesterday it was reported that the authorities of the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern intend to create a non-profit organization to fight for the full implementation of the project. It is planned that the organization will be headed by the former Prime Minister of the state, Erwin Sellering.
Nord Stream 2 is a gas pipeline under construction connecting Russia to Germany across the Baltic Sea. The new gas pipeline, like the existing Nord Stream, will ensure the high reliability of Russian gas supplies to Europe.
