According to the operational headquarters for combating the spread of coronavirus infection, for the first time since September 2021, less than 19 thousand cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection have been registered in Russia.

The last time such a level was observed was on September 15, when 18,841 people were diagnosed with the coronavirus Thus, in Russia the number of detected cases of infection has been declining for the eighth consecutive week.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Russia, 10,537,966 people were diagnosed with COVID-19. 9,524,039 residents of the country recovered, 310,518 people died. Over the past 24 hours, 26,976 people were discharged on recovery, 811 died.

Most of the new cases of infection were recorded in Moscow - 1824, St. Petersburg - 1468, Moscow region - 1364, Chelyabinsk region - 468, Sverdlovsk region - 466, Irkutsk region - 440, Nizhny Novgorod - 438, Krasnodar region - 422, Perm region - 405, Altai Territory - 386. It is noted that in 1591 people (8.7%) the disease proceeds without clinical manifestations.

In the North Caucasus, the Stavropol Territory is the leader in 24-hour growth of COVID-19 infections. Over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus was diagnosed in 157 residents of the region. In Dagestan, 102 cases of infection were detected, in Kabardino-Balkaria - 90, in Ingushetia - 76, in North Ossetia - 70, in Karachay-Cherkessia - 63, in Chechnya - 50. 

Let us remind you that the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of the new coronavirus pandemic on March 11, 2020. The number of people infected with COVID-19 exceeds 289 million around the world today, more than 5.4 million of which have died.
