Court rules former Armenian president Kocharyan to remain in custody

A general jurisdiction court in Yerevan met in session today to turn down a request filed by the lawyers of Armenia’s former president Robert Kocharyan for releasing their client on bail. 

The court said that Kocharyan shall remain in custody. The session was telecast by local news portals online.

"The court made a decision turn down the request filed by Mr. Kocharyan’s lawyers. He will remain in custody," TASS cited Judge Anna Danibekyan as saying.

The next session is scheduled for November 12. On September 20, the judge declined a similar motion.
